Tuesday, Wednesday, Happy Days...

Tuesday

Tuesday was out first "working day." We got started early by meeting at 7:45 and taking the Tube to the Churchill War Rooms. We had the pleasure of talking to the Museum Director, Phil Reed, OBE. He introduced us to the character of Churchill (a man who is near and dear not only to the Brits, but also to us Yanks) and talked to us about the PR issues he deals with while promoting the museum.

After our talk with Phil we were able to tour the museum and the original cabinet war rooms where all the communications for the UK took place during WWII. You can find out more about it here:

In the afternoon we met in a classroom with David Wallen and Ross Clarke from Live PR. Their small firm handles a variety of PR issues and their clients are just as diverse. Interestingly, one of their oldest clients is Fairfax County Economic Development Authority in Virginia. They were funny and full of great advice for students seeking a career in PR.

Wednesday

On Wednesday we went on field trip to Canterbury (about an hour and half drive from London) which was amazing. It was full of quaint shops, pubs, coffee shops, and beautiful medieval architecture. If you ever have the chance to go there, take it. I can't really put the experience into words, so instead of doing it an injustice I'll just share some pictures with you. I truly wish we could have spent more time there.
